When things heat up outside and little ones are home for the summer there are so many fun things to do. Some of our favorites are swimming at my parent’s house, playing in the fountain in the downtown square, playing board games and cards around the table with the air conditioning running and cool glass of sweet tea or fresh squeezed lemonade, and staying up late and watching movies!
I love to watch movies – but I really enjoy it when we watch movies with the whole family piled up on my big sectional. It is so big and cozy it just swallows you up and you can’t help but snuggle! Give me a good romantic comedy, or drama, or even a goofy comedy – heck I like just about any movie except horror or really lame/low budget sci-fi movies! LOL.
Watching a movie with your kids? I think it is super fun to build a tent in the middle of the living room with lots of blankets and pillows. Throw on your pajamas and pop a big bowl of popcorn to share and get comfy! Want to go all out? Drag your mattress into the living room and have everybody pile in and when the movie is over you can conk out right where you lay… a family style slumber party!
I still love to rent movies from Redbox. It is super cheap – just $1 a day. It is rare that we watch movies more than once around here, so buying DVDs just isn’t practical. I love that Redbox is so readily available in my town too – since all the other movie rental places have closed! Plus, since my Redbox is right inside my local Walmart I can grab my groceries or other needed household items and then grab a movie on my way out without adding an extra stop to my list of errands.
